Did a salesperson at a Baton Rouge shoe store pick jail over ratting out an LSU football player?

The Advocate says that police were questioning an employee of a Baton Rouge shoe store about the sale of official LSU gear when the employee chose jail over snitching on the source.

Reportedly, the LSU equipment included a pair of cleats and gloves worn during the Tigers win over Ole Miss in October. The items were also.advertised as such on an eBay listing.

The shoe store employee confessed that he sold the gear for an LSU player but refused to tell police the player's name.

After being told that he would be arrested if he failed to cooperate, the man chose to go to jail rather than turn in the athlete.

Selling equipment, shoes, jerseys, tickets or anything football related is a violation of NCAA rules and could cost the player his eligibility.
