The twenty part documentary, "Shape of Shreveport" has been named Documentary Film of the Year by the Louisiana Endowment of the Arts. The series creators, Will and Jim Broyles, will be honored at the awards ceremony April 7 in New Orleans.

Episodes covered so far include topics like city founder, Henry Miller Shreve, the Yellow Fever epidemic of the 1870s, Elvis Presley and the Louisiana Hayride and the civil rights movement.

The latest episodes, currently being shown at downtown's Strand Theater, are sports oriented, covering the history of local baseball.
