A mid-afternoon wreck in deep southeast Shreveport has claimed the life of a motorcycle rider.

Shreveport police say the wreck occurred around 3:30 this afternoon on East Flournoy-Lucas Road at the entrance to the Twelve Oaks subdivision.  It involved the motorcycle, a car, and an SUV.

Shreveport police crash investigators say it appears the motorcycle was headed east on East Flournoy-Lucas when the car pulled out of the subdivision and hit the motorcycle. The bike's rider was then struck by an SUV.  

The motorcyclist was treated at the scene by Shreveport Fire Department personnel and then rushed to University Health, where he died a short time later.  

His name has not been released, pending notification of relatives.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
