[UPDATE]  An investigation by the Bossier City Fire Department's Fire Prevention Bureau has determined last night's house fire in the 1200 block of Margaret Street was accidentally started as the result of a child playing with a cigarette lighter.

[ORIGINAL STORY]  Two residential fires in less than two hours have meant a very busy Tuesday evening for Bossier City firefighters

The first fire was reported about 5:45 in the 1200 block of Margaret Street.  Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from a front bedroom.  They were able to bring the fire under control in about 10 minutes and keep it from spreading to the rest of the house.  A woman and two children were home at the time but managed to get out safely.  Cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Then, about 7:00, firefighters were called to the 2800 block of Teague Street where they found fire in the attic.  They were able to keep it confined to that area and had it under control in about 15 minutes.  Two people were home at the time but they, too, managed to get out safely.  Cause of that fire, too, is still under investigation
