On Friday, September 29, 2023, at 1:52 AM, the Shreveport Fire Department received a report of a house on fire in the 1000 block of Sheridan Avenue.

The first unit arrived on scene within four minutes and reported a one-story structure that was fully involved in fire. The incident commander requested additional units to help extinguish the fire and protect the neighboring houses from damage. It took the efforts of thirty-one firefighters operating twelve units to bring the fire under control at 2:19 AM.

No injuries to firefighters were reported and the house appeared to be vacant and undergoing renovation. The full extent of the damage and official cause of the fire remains under investigation.
