Caddo Parish School Board approved its $472 million budget on Tuesday while eliminating 212 positions.

School officials say none of these cuts will be made through layoffs, but rather through attrition.  Other cuts include eliminating school supply funding and reducing substitute teachers.

With these cuts raise the question of priorities for Caddo Parish as a whole.  Is quality education or low taxes more important?

State funding is shrinking, student populations are shrinking, and the deficits the school board faces are growing.
