Thomas the Tank Engine, along with all his talking train buddies on the long running cartoon 'Thomas and Friends,' are racist. At least that's what one left wing writer says. And the evidence? Well, all the good trains pump out white smoke. And the bad ones? You guessed it...black.

The source of this latest PC insanity is Tracy Van Slyke, who, writing on The Guardian's website, says:

'Thomas and Friends' is the one show with enough subversive messages to make me turn it off for good. If you look at the steam rising up from the coal powered train stacks, you realize that the pretty puffs of smoke are concealing some pretty twisted, anachronistic messages. When the good engines pump out white smoke and the bad engines pump out black smoke...it's not hard to make the leap into the race territory.

So, if you're not mad enough already, you can read Van Slyke's entire article accusing 'Thomas and Friends' of "classism, sexism, anti-environmentalism bordering on racism."
