Panola County Man Heading Up River For Drugs

A 49-year-old Deberry, Texas man has pleaded guilty to federal drug violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.

Jimmie Gaston Langston pleaded guilty to Nov. 2, 2011, to possession of pseudoephedrine with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine and the manufacture of methamphetamine on premises where children are present on Apr. 3, 2012 before U.S. Magistrate Judge John D. Love. 

According to information presented in court, Langston purchased cold pills containing pseudoephedrine at a CVS store in Marshall, Texas, as well as additional purchases in Shreveport, LA, with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine.  The manufacturing of the methamphetamine took place at Langston’s residence where one or more young children were present at the time.  Langston was indicted by a federal grand jury on May 11, 2011. 

Langston faces up to 20 years in federal prison and an additional consecutive 20 year sentence.  A sentencing date has not been set.
