Every driver in Louisiana knows that we pay some of the highest insurance prices in the USA. But that's not all! Louisiana drivers considered "high risk" pay the highest premiums in America.

Personal financial website WalletHub compared insurance rates for different types of drivers from the five largest auto insurers, then ranked the states by how much insurers penalize risky drivers, with those where premiums rise the most ranked at the top.

Categories included premium increase for DUI convictions, convictions for reckless driving or driving with a suspended license and speeding more than 20mph over the limit.
