Louisiana Ranks 4th In US For Employment of Casino Employees
The American Gaming Association has announced that 19 casinos in Louisiana employ a total of 15,706 people on a permanent basis. Only Nevada, New Jersey, and Mississippi rank higher in the number of casino employees.
The casinos in Louisiana paid their workers a combined $603 million in 2013, the report said. They generated a cumulative $587 million in tax revenue for state and local government agencies, the group reported.
The AGA reports that casinos in Louisiana generate a total of $2.4 billion in revenue, which surpasses Mississippi with its $2.1 billion in revenue from 30 casinos.
