Shreveport officials are monitoring flash flooding after this morning's storms.

Residents are urged to be cautious along flooded roadways. Shreveport Police, Fire and Public Works Departments have temporarily closed some streets.

"We want to ensure the safety of our citizens," said Mayor Ollie Tyler in a news release. "When a large amount of water is dumped in a short period of time, it will overwhelm any system."

Here's the list of roadways to avoid due to either closures or high water levels:

  • Walker/Mackey
  • Jewella/E. Jewella
  • Hearne/Midway (state)
  • Holly/E. Jewella
  • Caddo/Common (state)
  • Fern between Pierremont and Fern Loop
  • Dean/Green Terrace
  • Oak Ridge/Wardlow
  • Dean/Colquitt
  • Hollywood/Roberts
  • Sara/Hoyte
  • Waggoner near Centrum Apartments
  • Line/I-20 (state)
  • Broadway/Mayfield
  • 1900 Claiborne
