During their investigation, detectives found out that 31-year-old Cassie Sims had given 43-year-old Patrick Pierce a firearm so he could go into the couple's home and kill her husband.

She's admitted to deputies that she concocted the murder scheme, and planned to tie up her husband to make it look like a home invasion. But while attempting to carry out the plot, the husband disarmed Pierce, who fled the residence. He was found hiding in a port-o-let in the parking lot of the park at Tall Timbers on Highway 80.

The two were taken to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility. Sims is charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree murder, solicitation for murder, and supplying a felon with a firearm and ammunition. Pierce is charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
