A vacant house is a total loss after a fire that also spread to a nearby home and commercial business in the Queensborough neighborhood.

According to a Shreveport Fire Department news release, just after 1:45 this morning, SFD Medic 6 was returning to the sttion from the hospital, when it drove up on a one-story, wood-frame home in the 2600 block of Lakeshore Drive that was fully involved in fire. There were no utilities connected to the home.

Flames from the initial house fire spread to the attic of a home next door, and to a commercial building on the other side sustained heat damage. It took seven fire units about 35 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

No injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigation.
