Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has been named the NFL Executive of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America. It's the first time Jones has been honored with that award.

This season, the Cowboys finished 12-4 and won their first playoff game since 2009. The moves Jones made in the offseason helped direct them to an NFC East title. Those included allowing longtime stars DeMarcus Ware and Miles Austin leave the team as free agents and not drafting Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manzeil, despite repeated and loud cries from Cowboys fans.
