Shreveport City Councilman James Flurry, who also serves on the Council's Audit Subcommittee, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the committee's meeting Monday where they reviewed the findings of a recent audit of the city's finances.

The independent audit, performed by the State Legislative Auditor, found a number of faulty financial practices, including having city funds in uninsured accounts and incorrect and untimely reporting of employee tax information to the state.

Flurry is also calling for the dismissal of Shreveport's Finance Director Charles Madden, saying it is his lack of oversight that is at the root of the city's financial missteps.
