On January 14, 2024, just after 1:30 a.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Willis Street on reports of a shooting. Arriving officers located 70-year-old Joan Johnson, 29-year-old Jasmine Johnson, and a male victim inside of the residence. They were all shot multiple times. Joan Johnson was pronounced deceased on scene and Jasmine Johnson and the male were transported to a local hospital where Jasmine Johnson was pronounced deceased. The man suffered life-threatening injuries and remains hospitalized.

They were able to identify a man that Jasmine Johnson was romantically involved with Donald White, 6-11-1993, as the person they believed responsible for the murders. White was taken into custody at his home a short time later.

White was booked into the Shreveport City Jail following interviews with investigators.
