Congressional telephones have reportedly been ringing off the hooks today with callers angrily protesting...but for once, at least, our lawmakers are innocent. Thousands upon thousands were calling Washington over an April Fool's Day joke!

The website with the scam is nationalcalendarday.com and it looks real enough, almost official. And just what is National Calendar Day?

"Re-introduced as SB04201501, the senate is currently debating the merits of an additional 15 days being added to the calendar. The house has a similar version which is expected to be debated in committee before coming to a vote on the floor."

That's right. The new "law", National Calendar day, would add an extra 15 days to the year!

"By using a complex mathematical equation, each day would be a little less than 1 hour shorter. The bill calls for the creation of the department of time to implement the changes needed in the USA.  The federal government is considering this as a way to generate new tax revenue. With an additional 15 days in a calendar year, the increase in taxable income will go up, therefore netting the feds an additional 4%. The monies would be earmarked to pay down the national deficit."

So, are you starting to understand why so many phones in DC are blowing up?
