WWE Brought a Massive Economic Impact to New Orleans in 2018
This week, WWE announced the amount of economic impact they were able to bring to the city of New Orleans for this year's Wrestlemania.
For the second time in 5-years, New Orleans was the host city for WWE’s annual Wrestlemania event back in April, and now we know the economic impact of this year's show topped the last time it was in New Orleans. WWE says this year's event estimated over 78-thousand in attendance for the event at the Mercedes Benz Superdome. The event contributed to a $175-million boom for the economy of the New Orleans region.
When WWE brought the event to NoLa in 2014, it brought in $142.2 for total economic impact. Even with these massive numbers, it doesn't break the Wrestlemania record for economic impact, which they set last year in Orlando, Fl with a $181.5 economic impact.
Now WWE will bring a smaller economic impact to our area. On December 2nd, WWE Live will be coming to the CenturyLink in Bossier City. That even will be part of their Holiday Tour, and will feature Worldwide megastar Ronda Rousey. Tickets for that show start at $15, and it's expected to draw attendance from East Texas, Arkansas, and potentially even Mississippi.
