Shreveport City Councilwoman LeVette Fuller talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the upcoming vote to confirm Henry Whitehorn as the city's Chief Administrative Officer.

The vote will come at the council's regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday.

Mayor Adrian Perkins created a controversy last week when he named Whitehorn to the post of Chief of Staff - a position that was previously non-existent in his administration - at the CAO's annual salary of $160 thousand.

If confirmed at Tuesday's meeting - a majority of council members is required - Whitehorn will replace Sherricka Fields Jones as city CAO. Jones will be moving to the position of Chief Financial Officer, a city job that does not currently exist in the city's charter. She also faces a confirmation vote by the Shreveport Council.
