What are the USA’s Worst Run Cities and Where are We?
With local governments across the country being tested by the COVID- 19 pandemic and the resulting financial crises facing hundreds of municipalities across the country, plus problems arising the recent protests, the personal-finance website WalletHub has released its report on 2020s Best and Worst Run American Cities.
To determine the effectiveness of local leadership, WalletHub compared 150 of the largest US cities based on their operating efficiency. For each city, WalletHub constructed a “Quality of City Services” score - consisting of 38 key performance indicators grouped into six service categories - that was then measured against the city’s total per-capita budget.
And where is Shreveport in all of this? Well, despite our longtime employment problems and ongoing financial woes, both only exacerbated by the Coronavirus stay-at-home orders, maybe not as bad as you might think. Out of those 150 American towns, Shreveport finished at 107.
