Shreveport Man Arrested for Allegedly Shooting and Killing His Brother

The Shreveport Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that happened on North Windermere Drive.

On Saturday, SPD Patrol Officers responded to reports of a shooting and located the 23 year old victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. Shreveport Fire Department took the man to Ochsner Health with life-threatening injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced deceased later that evening.

Shreveport Police Detectives responded to the scene, processed evidence, and obtained a search warrant for the residence to collect items of evidentiary value.

Detectives interviewed several witnesses who identified Kobe Starks as the man who armed himself and shot the victim following a verbal dispute inside the residence. Investigators determined the suspect and victim were brothers, and witness statements consistently corroborated the events leading up to the shooting.

Based on the evidence gathered, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Second Degree Murder. Shreveport Police Detectives located and arrested Kobe Starks, who was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on that charge.
