Winter Storm Leaves Town of Mansfield with Limited Water Service
Bad news in the town of Mansfield, Louisiana today. The town is dealing with a lack of water. This outage is likely the result of widespread power outages in the region.
Town officials say Mansfield’s water plant is continuing to produce clean, potable water, but the issue lies in getting that water out to customers. Power outages across the region have disrupted the pumps and booster stations needed to move water through the distribution system and into homes and businesses.

Power Outages Linked to Winter Storm
The winter storm brought freezing rain, ice accumulation, and dangerous road conditions, knocking out electricity across large portions of De Soto Parish. With electrical service interrupted, critical water infrastructure that depends on power has been unable to function normally.
Residents Are Urged to Conserve Water
Town leaders are urging residents who do have limited water service to conserve what they have until full service can be restored. Some residents have turned to bottled water, while others are sharing supplies with neighbors.
City officials say water pressure should begin to return once power is fully restored and pumping stations can operate normally.
