On Tuesday the Shreveport City Council did what's been done by so many so many other times: Delayed a vote on the path of the yet to be built section of I-49.

Councilman Willie Bradford added to the agenda a resolution supporting the highway's completion. But after heated discussion both before and after the meeting, the Council voted for the delay, even though a support of Bradford's legislation is symbolic and has no impact on future decisions.

Bradford, a long-time supporter of the "inner city connector", which would run I-49 through the Allendale neighborhood, wanted his resolution passed by February 8th, the deadline for the submission of public comments.
