Valentine’s Day Is Big Business in Shreveport-Bossier

Valentine's Day is a day to express your love to the one you love, but it is also a great day for business.

Henry Burns, the owner of The Wooden Spoon, says, "other than the Christmas holiday, Valentine's [Day] is probably our biggest holiday now."  His business sells baskets of cookies, muffins, and other baked goods.

Burns says what makes being in his industry so special during holidays like Valentine's Day is seeing the expression on the face of the recipient when they see the gift. Burns says, "you know the fact that the gift was given from someone's heart, and then it's also received by someone's heart, and it really makes it worthwhile."

He says his favorite part of Valentine's Day business is delivering the baskets and seeing the reaction right there in person.
