The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center is bringing their town hall meetings back to Shreveport, and has the next outreach event scheduled for Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 5-6 p.m., at the American Legion, Lowe-McFarlane, Post No. 14, 5315 South Lakeshore Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Veterans and their families, congressional and senatorial stakeholders, Veteran Service Organizations, local media partners, and other organizations in our community are invited to attend.

A release from the VA tells us what to expect from the meeting and what they hope to accomplish:

The Town Hall meeting is an open forum in which hospital leaders will listen to stakeholder’s thoughts, concerns and ideas. The meeting is an opportunity to build and strengthen OBVAMC’s commitment to ensuring service members, Veterans, families, and other beneficiaries have an opportunity to share their experiences both positive and those experiences that can be improved by OBVAMC staff.

VA Outreach services and special program representatives will also be available to assist Veterans to include VA health care enrollment and eligibility; VA benefits and claims assistance; patient advocate services and more.
