Flu season is about to be upon us, and a flu shot is the first line of defense from the nasty bug. Thanks to the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center (including the VA Outpatient Clinics in Monroe, Louisiana; Texarkana, Arkansas; and Longview, Texas), enrolled veterans will easily be able to get vaccinated.

The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center is bringing their town hall meetings back to Shreveport, and has the next outreach event scheduled for Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 5-6 p.m., at the American Legion, Lowe-McFarlane, Post No. 14, 5315 South Lakeshore Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Veterans in Longview, TX will have a chance to have some questions answered when the Overton-Brooks VA Medical Center hosts a Town Hall meeting and outreach event.

The Elks Lodge 122 of Shreveport will donate eight new bicycles in support of the Veterans Homeless Program, Thursday, Feb. 18. The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center will accept the bicycles, at the main entrance, at 2 p.m.

Overton Brooks VA Medical Center will offer flu shots to enrolled Veterans this Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, as part of a Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic, from 8 a.m.-Noon. Influenza threatens the health of millions of people each year and all Veterans are encouraged to receive the vaccine.

Overton Brooks VA Medical Center (OBVAMC) will host a Town Hall and outreach event on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 5-6 p.m., at the Main Facility, 510 E. Stoner Avenue. The Town Hall will take place in the 2nd floor Education Center.

Barksdale Air Force Base got a visit from a Joint Chiefs of Staff Senior Enlisted Advisor and a Strategic Command Senior Enlisted Leader this  week.
