Elks Lodge Donates Bicycles to Homeless Veterans Program

The Elks Lodge 122 of Shreveport will donate eight new bicycles in support of the Veterans Homeless Program, Thursday, Feb. 18. The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center will accept the bicycles, at the main entrance, at 2 p.m.

This week is also National Salute to Veteran Patients Week, an annual campaign to pay special tribute to the men and women who have served their country. During National Salute, volunteers, Veterans Service Organizations, civic and community organizations, as well as businesses and other agencies will visit Veteran patients and hold special events and celebrations. These activities serve as a reminder that all across America there are communities that remember the sacrifice and honor the service of our Nation’s Veterans.
