
Town Hall Meeting and Forum to Focus on Education
Education reform. It's going to be a major issue during the legislative session that starts next week. That's why State Education Superintendent John White and State Representative Jeff Thompson are holding a town hall meeting this evening in Bossier City. Doctor White will by laying out the specifics of the governor's reform plan. Tonight's meeting starts at 6:30 in the Bossier Parish Commuunity College gymnasium and everybody's invited.
Education issues specific to Caddo Parish will also be on the agenda for tonight's meeting of the Broadmoor Neighborhood Association. A panel that includes Superintendent Gerald Dawkins, Alliance for Education Director Scott Hughes, CAE President Jackie Lansdale, and a host of others will discuss the idea of breaking the district into smaller independent school districts. The public is welcome. The meeting starts with snacks at 6:30 and the panel discussion starting at 7:00. Attendees will be asked for a one-dollar donation at the door of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church on Grover Place.
