The two struggled and worked their way back outside.  According to Texarkana Police, Edmond then gave Houff's gun to Houff's son, 22-year-old Jeremy Heard.

Heard fired one shot towards Edmond.  Edmond then fired back at Heard with his own 9mm pistol, hitting the 22-year-old twice in the upper body.

Houff and Heard both left the scene to get medical treatment for Heard's gunshot wounds.  Edmond met officers at the Bi-State Justice Center in Texarkana.
