With icy conditions continuing over parts of Louisiana, officials at Northwestern State University have decided to close NSU campuses in Natchitoches, Leesville, and Alexandria again tomorrow, Wednesday, January 29th.  

NSU's Shreveport campus will remain open.  NSU officials say all campuses should be open again Thursday.

 

State government offices will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday) in 49 Louisiana parishes. Here's the list from the Commissioner of Administration:

Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Caldwell, Cameron, Catahoula, Concordia, East Baton Rouge, East Carroll, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Franklin, Grant, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, LaFourche, LaSalle, Livingston, Madison, Morehouse, Orleans, Ouachita, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, Rapides, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Tensas, Terrebonne, Vermillion, Vernon, Washington, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana

 

Natchitoches Parish government offices will re-open tomorrow (Wednesday.)  Here's the official notice we received:

Natchitoches Parish President Rick Nowlin has announced that Parish offices will be open for business on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.  Even though much of the moisture on Parish roads has been removed by the afternoon sun and wind, citizens are encouraged to exercise caution tomorrow morning when driving.

Parish employees are encouraged to continue to pay attention to local media for weather updates this evening and Wednesday morning.  In the event conditions should warrant any changes in Parish opening plans, notice will be given through the local media.
