The New Big Tex Unveiled Early
After falling victim to a mechanical fire, Big Tex is back. Just a big as before.
Big Tex caught fire on October 19th last year during the Texas State Fair.
The 52-foot tall statue was planned to be unveiled today, but mother nature had her way pulling off the covers a day early.
Reaction has been somewhat mixed, but generally positive. Some of it is even a little funny.
The original Big Tex was actually a Christmas season tourist trap for a store in Navarro County, Texas. The State Fair of Texas bought the statue for $750 and transformed him into the giant cowboy we all love today in 1952.
What do you think of the new Big Tex?
