The ‘Moods of America’ Map Shows Louisiana Among Most Neurotic
There is now a map of the moods of America and the Ark-La-Tex comes up a little neurotic, somewhat open, but each state is very unique.
The research was done by the University of Cambridge and ranked states in the following categories:
- Openness
- Conscientiousness
- Extroversion
- Agreeableness
- Neuroticism
Louisiana and Texas are pretty average in terms of the rankings, with Louisiana being more neurotic than Texas and Texas being more conscientious than Louisiana.
Arkansas is generally not as "open" or conscientious as most other states, however it is almost as neurotic at Louisiana.
Across the country, the most conscientious state is South Carolina and the least being Maine.
The most extroverted state is Wisconsin and the least according to the research is Vermont.
The most neurotic state is West Virginia and Utah is the least neurotic.
Utah is the most agreeable state in the nation, while unsurprisingly Washington, D.C., is the least agreeable.
The most "open" place is Washington, D.C., the least "open" is North Dakota.
The research was done through surveys with participants solicited through online mediums that gauged the responses to questions pertaining to their personality.
The results were compiled by state and then ranked.
One of the best parts about the map is that you can see which state best matches your personality.
I took the survey... and it told me I best matched with Colorado... open, conscientious, and not very neurotic.
Which state best matches you?
