As you may have heard, there's going to be a big parade on Saturday! The Krewe of Gemini is the oldest parading krewe in our area and was founded in 1989.

This is the krewe's 26th year and they'll be celebrating Valentine's with their theme 'Rhythm and Romance!' Leading up to the big day, you can celebrate with Gemini Friday, February 13th at their annual float loading party at the Gemini den located at 2101 East Texas St. in Bossier City. The event runs from 5pm until 11pm and is open to the public. This is the perfect chance to come out to see the floats up close and personal and trade for some great beads!

If you're planning on enjoying parade day, the Krewe of Gemini says that this year's parade route is the same as last year's.

The parade will start at the "Parade Start" Banner hanging over Clyde Fant Parkway in Downtown Shreveport. We will proceed on Clyde Fant Parkway towards Shreveport-Barksdale Hwy. We will continue along Shreveport Barksdale Hwy. and turn left on East Kings Hwy, until the “Parade Ends” sign just north of Preston. "NO THROW ZONES" will be clearly marked along parade route. Those zones are the sharp "S" turn, under the railroad tracks, on Clyde Fant Parkway and all bridges on Clyde Fant Parkway.

The parade will get started at 4:30pm and the forecast looks great with a high temperature around 65! So pack some sunscreen, making some signs and get ready to 'Let the good times roll!'
