The Best of Times Poker Rally Underway to Benefit Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana

"The Best of Times" third annual TBT Poker Rally wraps up this week, but it's not too late for you to participate. Last year's rally raised over 2,000 pounds of canned goods for the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.

All you need to do to participate is visit five of the many featured businesses in Shreveport and Bossier City and bring canned goods and non-perishable food items to donate to the food bank. Then you get a sealed poker card from that business. The prize winners will be determined by the highest-ranking five-card poker hand.

A donation of canned goods is also required for admission when you go submit your poker hand entry at the Judging Event and Business Expo.

That runs from 9 until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the ballroom at DiamondJacks Casino and Resort in Bossier City. Prizes for the highest poker hands will be announced beginning at noon, along with winners of the many door prizes. There's no admission fee for the general public to attend the judging event and expo, which features over 60 businesses and organizations providing information about their products and services.
