Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana’s ‘Empty Bowls’ Event Set for June
The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana is gearing up for its main fundraiser of the year.
The 9th annual Empty Bowls event is being held at Eldorado Casino and Hotel Thursday, June 5. Attendees get to enjoy a modest dinner featuring soups, bread, dessert and a beverage. They even get to take a hand-painted ceramic bowl of their choosing home with them. The bowls serve as reminders of all the empty bowls in our community that don't get filled.
The Food Bank will be honoring one of its outstanding partner agencies, Bernstein Development, for all its employees do to help fight hunger in northwest Louisiana. The winner of this year's ultimate raffle prize will be announced, as well. That prize: a free one-year lease on a new Toyota Tundra Crew Max. Last year's winner donated the vehicle back to the Food Bank.
The event also includes a silent auction, featuring goods and services donated to the Food Bank. Tickets are $40 each, and Ultimate Raffle Prize tickets are $20 each. You can get both on the Food Bank website.
