UPDATE: The victim in Monday afternoon's Caddo Heights shooting is identified as 15-year-old Desmon Bell.

Bell was identified through fingerprints. An autopsy has been ordered.

ORIGINAL STORY:  Shreveport detectives are searching for whoever's responsible for a shooting that claimed the life of a local teen this afternoon.

Just after 1:30, patrol officers were called to a home in the 1400 block of Alma Street, where they located a male victim who had suffered what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released yet.

Violent Crimes investigators were called to the scene and launched an investigation. So far, it seems the victim was shot while inside the home, but detectives haven't figured out where the shot originated.

Police are searching the residents in the hopes of gathering additional information that might help identify and locate a suspect. Anyone who can help in the meantime is urged to call Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373. The agency is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 if an arrest is made.
