Expect a wonderful show from Barksdale's B-52's Friday afternoon. The bombers will fly over hospitals in the SBC to honor all of our healthcare workers.
Living in the shadow of Barksdale Air Force Base, you can easily learn to love the B-52 Bomber. The B-52 is not your average plane, so it would make sense that a model B-52 wouldn't be your average model plane either.
But would you ever believe the price tag on one could run you $60,000...
The Air Force says it is ready to announce the winner of a high-stakes industry competition to build a next-generation bomber to replace the venerable B-52.
Today was a banner day for one Barksdale Air Force Base officer. Col. Paul Tibbets IV is the Deputy Director of Operations for Air Force Global Strike Command and, today, he was certified to fly the B-52 Stratofortress.
Air Force Global Strike Command’s second annual Global Strike Challenge missile, bomb and security forces competition will culminate with the score posting finale here, Nov. 8-9.
Team and individual awards will be presented to those teams with the highest performance scores among Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, B-2 Spirit, B-52 Stratofortress, B-1 Lancer, UH-1N Huey and security forces units.
