It seems like Hurricane Laura may be too powerful for our Barksdale Bubble.

Expect a wonderful show from Barksdale's B-52's Friday afternoon. The bombers will fly over hospitals in the SBC to honor all of our healthcare workers.

CNN and Fox News have both reported that six B-52 bombers from Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City have been deployed to the Indian Ocean.

More than 200 airmen are back at Barksdale Air Force Base.

Today was a banner day for one Barksdale Air Force Base officer. Col. Paul Tibbets IV is the Deputy Director of Operations for Air Force Global Strike Command and, today, he was certified to fly the B-52 Stratofortress.

Flight and ground crews and their B-52 bombers leave Barksdale Air Force Base tomorrow for Andersen Air Force Base, Guam.

Air Force Global Strike Command’s second annual Global Strike Challenge missile, bomb and security forces competition will culminate with  the score posting finale here, Nov. 8-9. Team and individual awards will be presented to those teams with the highest performance scores among Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, B-2 Spirit, B-52 Stratofortress, B-1 Lancer, UH-1N Huey and security forces units.
