SHREVEPORT, LA - I think I found something that you might agree is the stupidest kitchen gadget you will ever see. I don't know anyone in Louisiana who has bought one of these things. I hope I don't run into anyone who thinks this gadget is a good idea.

What Is It and What Does It Do?

It's called a Banana Loca. You can use this crazy thing to hollow out a banana and then inject something else into your banana. But it sure looks like a lot of work and so many little pieces to clean and keep up with.

Who Invented This Gadget?

This is the brain child of Renee Heath and Bechara Jaoudeh. They managed to get the device on the show Shark Tank and won investments from Mark Cuban and Kevin O'Leary. They teamed together to buy 25 percent equity in the company for $250,000. They also make $3 dollars for each one sold.

Here's What Is Posted on Amazon about the Product:

Banana Loca is an innovative kitchen gadget that straightens a banana, cores it while still in the peel.
Fill your banana with your favorite toppings, like Nutella, peanut butter, yogurt, honey and jams or jellies.

How Much Does It Cost?

A Banana Loca sells for $67 dollars on Amazon. But you can buy one on the Banana Loca website for just under $30 bucks.

Look, I love bananas and Nutella is ok. But there is no possible way I would go to all this trouble to hollow out a banana and then fill it up with Nutella, peanut butter, jelly or anything else. This is just too much work. If I want to mix a banana with another product I have something else in my kitchen that works just as well and doesn't need so much effort. It's called a spoon. How this thing got the green light is something I will never understand. But people with more business sense than I think it's a good idea and have ponied up the cash to try to make it work.
