State Rep Candidate Salvatore Makes His Case [VIDEO]

Candidate for State Representative (District 5) Brian Salvatore talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his candidacy, the campaign and what he sees as Louisiana's biggest needs.

Salvatore, a professor at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, addresses the state's economic woes. "It's a combination of not doing economic development right in this state, not taxing fairly, and not collecting the appropriate revenue from the appropriate people." The chemistry and physics professor continues, "We are not connecting education...to economic development. As a state representative I would be in a unique position to carry that out...to say to students, 'If you stay here and have faith in us, we are going to create opportunity that's going to make you want to stay."
