SPAR Seeks Public Input During Bond Proposal Design Process

Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation (SPAR) announces a public meeting schedule for input from the public during the design process of the 2011 bond projects. In describing the purpose of the public meetings, SPAR Director Shelly Ragle stated “Before the architects and landscape architects start work on the projects, the public, who are the customers and users of the facilities, must be given the opportunity to express their needs and desires for the projects”. The general public is invited and encouraged to attend the meetings.

The meeting schedule is as follows:

Mamie Hicks Park – Monday, March 5 at 6:00pm 

Hattie Perry Park – Monday, March 19 at 5:30pm 

Bilberry Park – Tuesday, March 20 at 6:00pm 

Cargill Park* – Thursday, March 22 at 5:30pm *at Wildwood Park, 7401 Jewella Avenue 

Valencia Park – Monday, March 26 at 6:30pm 

Design contracts for Airport Park, Huntington Golf Course and Querbes Golf Course are still being approved. Meetings for those locations are expected to be scheduled sometime near the end of March.
