The possibility of heavy rain and even flooding tomorrow has prompted several school closings.

Caddo Parish schools will be closed tomorrow and Friday — including all after-school activities and sporting events. Football games will be rescheduled. Also closed tomorrow and Friday will be First Baptist Church School, LSU-Shreveport, and the Shreve Memorial Library and all of its branches. The libraries won’t re-open until next Tuesday

All three schools in the Shreveport Catholic Diocese will be closed tomorrow — same for Bossier Parish, Desoto Parish, Webster Parish, Bienville Parish, and Claiborne Parish public schools — Bossier Parish Community College, Virginia College-Shreveport/Bossier – and Northwest Louisiana Technical College’s Mansfield Campus

[UPDATE] KTBS has released a full list of school closures in the Shreveport-Bossier area has been released for Friday, August 31. All schools in Caddo Parish and Red River Parish are closed. Additionally, Calvary Academy K-12, Linwood Public Charter, Southfield School, First Baptist Church School, Evangel Christian Academy, Shreveport Christian Academy, Riverdale Academy, Linear Leadership Academy, Southern University, LSU Shreveport, BPCC, Northwestern Community College, Grambling State University and University Montessori will be shut down.

Schools in Nanchitoches Parish and Sabine Parish have also said they will be closed, and classes are canceled at Grambling State University.

In the meantime, Bossier, Webster, and Bienville Parish schools have notified KEEL news that they WILL have classes tomorrow (Friday). And, even though there won’t be classes at BPCC, the library and learning center there will be open for students to use.
