
Shreveport Evacuation Center’s Population Swells
Evacuees have been pouring into the state-run critical needs shelter in the old Sam's Club store on Jewella because of flooding in south Louisiana. They're being bussed in -- many with nothing but the clothes on their backs. For that reason, those evacuees staying at local shelters are in need of some essentials. goodwill industries of northwest louisiana is asking for donations of toiletries and towels -- and all sizes of clothing, diapers, underwear and socks. you can drop those off at the goodwill warehouse at 60-20 linwood avenue in shreveport. items will then be distributed to the shelters. at last count, there were more than 11-hundred evacuees at the jewella avenue shelter and another 80 or so at the red cross shelter at lsus
