Six Flags Over Texas + Hurricane Harbor Announce Reopening Dates
Following Governor Abbott's reopening guidelines for theme parks in the State of Texas, both Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor will be opening back up to the public in a 'preview mode'. Beginning June 19th, Six Flags Over Texas season pass holders and those with memberships may return to the park seeking the thrills they've been missing since the parks mandated closure back in March. The park will reopen to the public on June 22nd.
Guests entering the park will notice quite a few changes. Six Flags has implemented new safety measures, hygiene protocols and social distancing guidelines. Among the changes are:
- Health screenings for guests and team members
- Strictly enforced social distancing
- Extensive sanitization and disinfecting protocols
- Sanitized food preparation and service
- Commercial-grade cleaning equipment and supplies
- Multi-layered guest and team Member communication
- Park reservations system to manage attendance
Guests may begin making reservations immediately through the parks new reservation system, which is designed to control park attendance.
When is comes to cooling down in the Texas sun, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is the destination. This park will reopen to season pass holders and those with memberships on June 18th and will reopen to the public on June 22nd.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor will be limiting the capacity of some of the attractions like the wave pool and lazy river to meet social distancing guidelines.
Both parks have added multiple hand washing and alcohol based hand sanitizer stations throughout the park. Six Flags team members will also be sanitizing high touch points quite frequently throughout both parks.
