Back in August, Shreveport Police Department responded to a call from a victim that reported her $6,000 wedding ring had been stolen off of her nightstand.

The victim told Officers that she suspected her brother, Chad Russell, was involved in the theft. The victim said Russell had access to her home at the time the ring went missing, and has a history of stealing from his family.

During the investigation, SPD Detectives determined that Russell had pawned the ring at a pawn shop in Ruston, Louisiana. The shop was able to provide SPD with a photo of the ring, which matched the description given to Officers.

SPD ran Russell's background and found that he has an extensive history of theft and property-related crimes. Russell has prior arrests for theft, burglary, and illegal possession of stolen things. With more than a dozen property crime-related offenses

Detectives have obtained a warrant for Chad Russell’s arrest on one count of Felony Theft.

SPD is urging the public to come forward with any information leading to the arrest.

From SPD:

"Anyone with information regarding Russell’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department at 318-673-7300 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373."
