Shreveport Man Arrested for Slashing a Child With a Knife

On Monday evening, Shreveport Police were called to Champ Clark Street to reports of a domestic violence incident involving a child.

SPD showed up to the scene, and found that a 5 year-old with a slash wound from a knife on his arm. After interviewing witnesses, Police determined that the child's injuries were caused by a relative of the child, LaEddie Williams. Williams ran away from the scene before SPD got there.

The child was taken to the hospital for stitches, and Police began their search for Williams. After a short search a Patrol Officer found Williams walking down Linwood Road near Hollywood Avenue.

Police stopped Williams and were able to get him in cuffs, and off to jail he went!

Williams has been charged with one count of Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

The child is expected to make a full recovery after getting his arm stitched up at the hospital.
