Shreveport Police will hold a safety checkpoint Friday, January 28, 2022, in East Shreveport.

The checkpoint, which is part of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, will begin at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022, and run until 3:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022. The checkpoint is also part of an effort between multiple agencies (Louisiana State Police and Caddo Sheriff) to emphasize their commitment to make the streets of our city safe for everyone.

Officers will be checking for impaired drivers, and Seatbelt violations along with any other violations that could potentially compromise the safety of those persons taking to the roadways.

Funding for the checkpoint is provided by a grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission as part of the continuing effort to help curb the number of those impaired drivers who take to the streets each year in our area.
