SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport Police Arrest Felon for Multiple Charges
The Shreveport Police Department has arrested 43-year-old William Chappel on numerous charges following a traffic stop on July 6 at the intersection of Market Street and Wall Street. Officers apprehended Chappel after discovering that he was driving a vehicle with switched license plates.
During the traffic stop, officers located narcotics and a firearm. Further investigation revealed that Chappel is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Chappel was ultimately arrested for the following charges:
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Possession of a Schedule II narcotic
- Illegal carrying of a weapon
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- An outstanding warrant for domestic abuse battery
This arrest underscores the Shreveport Police Department's commitment to removing handguns from the streets and arresting those prohibited from possessing them.
Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
