Shreveport Police Arrest 2 in Southern Maid Shooting
On March 30th, 2023, around 7:30 p.m. Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a shooting at 3505 Hearne Avenue.
Responding officers were notified that Cordell Goines (1-2-97) had been transported to a local area hospital for a gunshot wound. Detectives with the Shreveport Police Violent Crimes unit were contacted and responded to the scene.
Further investigation determined Goines and Alton Daniels (2-5-83) were involved in a dispute in the parking lot of Southern Maid Donuts. Both men produced firearms and began shooting at one another.
Both men have been arrested for the actions taken in this incident. Goines has been charged with one count of illegal use of a firearm. Daniels has been charged with one count of Aggravated Battery and one count of illegal use of a firearm. Goines is expected to recover.
Goines photo is not releasable to the illegal use of a firearm being considered non-violent per state law changes.
We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
