The recipients of Shreveport's Spirit of Martin Luther King, Junior, award for 2013 have been announced.  Presented with medallions for their accomplishments were Dr Brondwyn Holliway-Alford, a local pediatrician; Public Service Commission Chairman Foster Campbell; attorney and former state legislator Willie Singleton; and Maude Warner, the mother of three children who drowned in the Red River in 2010.

In recognizing this year's recipients, Mayor Cedric Glover said, "Each of our recipients exemplifies the spriit of leadership, courage, hope, love, and compassion for others that Dr. King taught throughout his magnificent life.
