SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport Man Arrested for Terrorizing via Social Media Post
On August 16th, 2024, the Shreveport Police Department arrested 39-year-old Nicki Daniels on one count of Terrorizing following a social media post that sparked widespread concern within the community. After receiving dozens of messages, phone calls, and other communications from concerned citizens, SPD acted swiftly to investigate the situation, leading to Daniels' arrest.
Terrorizing is defined as the intentional communication of information that suggests the imminent or ongoing commission of a crime of violence, or that a circumstance dangerous to human life exists or is about to exist, with the intent of causing members of the general public to experience sustained fear for their safety. This charge also applies to situations where such communication results in the evacuation of a building, public structure, or transportation facility, or causes other serious disruptions to the general public.
The Shreveport Police Department takes such threats seriously and reminds our community that posts on social media can have significant legal consequences. We urge everyone to use social media responsibly and to consider the potential impact of their words on the safety and well-being of others.
